- Stiffness and Limited Range of Motion: Tendon pain can lead to stiffness, making it difficult to move the affected joint freely. This can result in a decreased range of motion.
- Weakness: Tendon pain may cause weakness or a feeling of instability in the affected area, making it challenging to perform certain movements or activities.
- Crepitus: Some individuals may experience a crackling or grating sensation, known as crepitus, when moving the affected tendon.

Tendon pain, also known as tendinopathy or tendonitis, can occur due to various causes. Here are some common causes of tendon pain:
- Overuse or Repetitive Strain: Overloading a tendon through repetitive movements or excessive use without proper rest can lead to tendon pain. This is commonly seen in athletes or individuals who engage in repetitive activities, such as runners, tennis players, or manual laborers.
- Age-related Degeneration: Tendons can degenerate and become less flexible with age, making them more prone to injury and pain. This is known as tendinosis and is more common in older individuals.
- Incorrect Technique or Training: Using improper techniques during sports or exercise, inadequate warm-up or stretching, or sudden changes in training intensity can strain tendons, leading to pain.
- Trauma or Injury: Direct trauma or sudden, forceful movements can damage tendons, causing pain. This can occur in accidents, falls, or during sports activities.
- Poor Posture and Biomechanics: Incorrect posture, misalignment, or poor body mechanics can place excessive stress on tendons, leading to pain and discomfort.
